Alan Van Wijgerden: ‘1983’
1983 originated from an exhibition held that same year titled Fashion. The exhibition explored fashion not only in the haute couture sense—although some images were taken on the King’s Road in Chelsea—but in a broader social and cultural context.
Everything at Once
'Everything at Once' is an exhibition by first year photography students at Coventry university.
The work on show explores the theme of Community, including projects about youth culture, family dynamics and the environment that portray feelings of connection, belonging and shared experiences.
The exhibiting photographers are Charlie Southwell, Javeria Jabeen, Jodie Ricketts, Paul Collins, Rex Whiteman and Olivia Payne-Mulvenny.
Ismatjahan Ravat: Residential
Ismatjahan Ravat is a visual artist working across painting, collage, and print. Their work is detailed and expressive, reflecting a strong interest in pattern, repetition, and intricate mark-making.
This residency has been designed to support Ismatjahan in developing their curatorial skills through the creation of their first solo exhibition at Art Riot Collective. Working alongside Aiden Moseley and Jennifer Gilbert, they will explore how the gallery can become a space that reflects and showcases the breadth of their artistic practice.
Ismatjahan has previously received a commission from Coventry Health Centre and exhibited work in Sheffield as part of the Art Works Together exhibition. Most recently, their work was acquired by Rugby Art Gallery and Museum.
This residency provides an important opportunity for Ismatjahan to reflect on and present their body of work within the Art Riot Collective gallery, while developing confidence in curating and sharing their practice with wider audiences.
The Severed Wing
The Severed Wing is a live art performance by Corinne, exploring their lived experience of isolation and disability.
Coventry University Photography Students
Art Riot Collective has strong links with Coventry University offering the gallery as an opportunity for students to curate and exhibit their work.
These images are from third year photography students who fund raised and hosted an exhibition for their final assessment.
The ARC gallery itself is an accessible venue so really meets people access needs. We are always happy to work with groups and or individuals to explore how we develop this further.
